Our story

Built for the most important
nine months of your life.

Mombite started with a simple, frustrating question every pregnant woman asks at some point: “Wait — can I actually eat this?”

Pregnancy brings so much joy — and so much noise. You're suddenly surrounded by contradicting advice, long lists of foods to avoid, and meal plans that feel like they were written for someone else. The information is out there, but it's scattered, overwhelming, and rarely personalized to where you are in your journey.

We built Mombite to cut through that noise. Not with more articles or generic advice, but with a tool that actually knows your trimester, your dietary needs, and what's already in your fridge — and gives you real, safe, delicious recipes based on all of it.

Every recipe on Mombite is reviewed for pregnancy safety. Ingredients that are risky during certain stages are automatically filtered out. You don't have to think about it — we already did.

What we stand for

🛡️

Safety, always

Every recipe is filtered for pregnancy safety — trimester by trimester, condition by condition. No guessing, no Googling.

🥗

Real personalization

Your body changes every week. Mombite adapts with you — your diet, your pantry, your health conditions.

🔬

Science-backed

Nutritional thresholds based on NIH guidelines. Not trends, not hearsay — actual data for maternal health.

Simplicity

Pregnancy is already a lot. Mombite is designed to be calm, clear, and effortless — not another thing to manage.

How we write

Pregnancy nutrition isn't a space for guesswork. Here's how we make sure every piece of content on Mombite earns your trust.

We cite primary sources, not blogs.

Every nutrition claim, safety threshold, and recipe modification is cross-referenced against guidelines from ACOG, FDA, CDC, NIH, Mayo Clinic, and NHS. If we can't trace it to a primary source, it doesn't go in.

No marketing claims in place of citations.

You won't find "studies show" or "experts recommend" without a named source behind it. Every nutrient threshold links to the original guideline.

Content is updated when guidelines change.

Pregnancy nutrition guidelines evolve. We review our content against the latest ACOG and FDA updates and note the last review date on every article.

Meet Emily

Mombite started when Emily — pregnant and overwhelmed by contradicting nutrition advice — couldn't find an app that actually understood her trimester, her dietary needs, and what was already in her fridge. Her partner Jack built her one. That's how Mombite was born.

“Emily” and “Jack” are pen names. The pregnancy, the questions, the cravings, the late-night research sessions — all real. We use pen names to protect our family's privacy while sharing what we learn publicly.

Emily is not a doctor or registered dietitian. She's a first-time mom-to-be sharing her own pregnancy journey, the questions she wrestles with, and the primary-source research she relies on. Behind every article, the Mombite Editorial Team fact-checks every nutrition claim, safety threshold, and recipe against ACOG, FDA, CDC, NIH, Mayo Clinic, and NHS guidelines.

For medical decisions, always consult your OB-GYN, midwife, or registered dietitian. When Mombite's network of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists launches, their named, credentialed reviews will appear alongside Emily's voice on medically-reviewed articles. Read our editorial standards →

Medical review

Mombite is currently building a network of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) specializing in maternal and prenatal nutrition. Our commitment is that no content labeled "medically reviewed" will ever go live without a named, credentialed reviewer.

Until then, every piece of content we publish is written by the Mombite Editorial Team and cross-referenced against the primary sources listed above. We do not use placeholder or fabricated medical credentials — if you see a reviewer name on one of our articles, they are a real person with verifiable credentials.
