parsley — With care during pregnancy
A note from Emily
Emily's honest take
Mama, it's generally considered safe to enjoy parsley in the amounts you'd typically use in cooking as a food herb. The FDA even lists it as "generally recognized as safe" when used this way. However, it's very important to avoid consuming parsley in large, medicinal amounts, or in concentrated forms like supplements, extracts, essential oils, or strong teas. In higher doses, some compounds in parsley, such as apiol and myristicin, could potentially stimulate uterine contractions and may increase the risk of miscarriage or preterm labor.

Always check with your OB for personalized advice, mama.
