A note from Emily
Emily's honest take
Good news, mama! You can absolutely eat pork while pregnant, as long as it's cooked thoroughly. The key is to ensure there's no trace of pink or blood and that the juices run clear, which helps eliminate any harmful bacteria or parasites like Toxoplasma or Trichinella that can be present in raw or undercooked meat. For whole cuts like roasts, steaks, and chops, the FDA recommends cooking to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) with a three-minute rest time, and for ground pork, it should reach 160°F (71°C).

Always check with your OB for personalized dietary advice, mama.
